Robyn is the thinking fan's pop star, the rare artist who burst onto the international music scene as a teenage singer of bubblegum pop who walked away from easy success to adopt an increasingly personal and individual sound.  After an early career as a child actor, the Stockholm native released her debut album in 1995, when she was just 16.  Robyn Is Here included some of the earliest work from Max Martin, who would go on to write many of the signature hits of the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and Ariana Grande.

But after becoming a UNICEF ambasador and traveling the world for several years, Robyn decided that pop superstardom wasn't what she wanted.  She wanted critical respect, a devoted fanbase who understood and appreciated her artistry, and perhaps most importantly, independence.  So she bought herself out of her record label contract in 2005, founded Konichiwa Records, and released the self-titled Robyn, an outright pop masterpiece that established her reputation as an artist who could break new ground while moving fans to the dance floor.  She's spent the intervening decade and a half refining her sound while integrating new influences, and releasing a string of acclaimed classics — the latest of which, Honey, is out now.
