Formed in New York City in 1974, Blondie broke through with the 1978 album Parallel Lines, a record that turned them into international stars and produced the chart-topping single Heart of Glass. Across albums like Eat to the Beat and Autoamerican, the band racked up a remarkable string of hits and pushed pop music in bold new directions, even taking rap to the top of the charts with Rapture. Their influence on new wave, pop, and alternative music earned them a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006, and Debbie Harry remains one of the most iconic figures in rock.
