Tanglewood Schedule

For more than 80 years, Tanglewood in Lenox, MA has been the premier summer concert destination in the Boston area. Named after a book by Nathaniel Hawthorne, Tanglewood was established as the seasonal home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra in 1937, and the following year the Shed, designed by Eliel Saarinen, was built as its permanent stage. In 1994, Seiji Ozawa Hall was added for chamber music and smaller performances. Tanglewood remains a world-class home for classical music, but today many of the biggest names in popular music put it on their tour routes too, as a glance at the 2026 schedule below makes clear.

 

The 2026 season is one of the strongest in years. Folk and rock legend Paul Simon plays two nights on June 27 and 28, James Taylor and His All-Star Band return for their traditional Fourth of July run on July 3 and 4, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Pops anchor the summer with Keith Lockhart, Andris Nelsons, and guest artists across dozens of dates. Comedy fans can catch Jon Stewart on June 20, while jazz arrives with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra on June 26.

 

The lineup keeps its momentum right through the close of summer, with Brandi Carlile on August 18, Cynthia Erivo on August 21, Carrie Underwood on August 29, Judy Collins on August 30, the Tedeschi Trucks Band with Lukas Nelson on September 2, Alabama Shakes on September 5, and John Fogerty with Steve Winwood closing things out on September 6.
