About the New York Mets
Founded in 1962, the New York Mets are one of baseball's most storied franchises. The team has won two World Series championships, in 1969 and 1986, and has produced legendary players including Tom Seaver, Mike Piazza, Dwight Gooden, Darryl Strawberry, and David Wright. Opened in 2009, Citi Field replaced Shea Stadium as the Mets' home and quickly established itself as one of the premier ballparks in Major League Baseball. Located in Flushing, Queens, it's easily accessible by subway (the 7 train stops right at the park) and features a classic-modern design inspired by Ebbets Field.
