Formed in 1972 by principle members Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, Steely Dan are one of the most unusual and idiosyncratic bands to ever release a multi-Platinum album.  Within two years of releasing their debut LP Can't Buy a Thrill, they disbanded the rest of their band and retired from touring, so they could focus on creating a very particular sound in the recording studio — a sound that was indebted as much to jazz legends like Duke Ellington and Horace Silver as it was to their early rock and roll roots.  In 1977, they released Aja, their signature album and one of the greatest in the history of progressive rock.  And while it would be twenty years between their follow-up, 1980's Gaucho, and their next release, they remained, as Rolling Stone once called them, "the perfect musical antiheroes of the Seventies."
The most inventive rock band of the 1970s is back on tour in 2021!  Donald Fagen is bringing his nearly unclassifiable brand of rock and roll to the stage of the Cadence Bank Amphitheatre on July 9th, 2021, and lucky for fans like you, great Steely Dan Atlanta Tickets are available at BigStub!
