Born James Keogh, Vance Joy started his career as an Australian-rules footballer before trading the pitch for a guitar in his mid-twenties. Riptide, released in 2013, spent more than a year on the Billboard Hot 100 and was eventually certified diamond in Australia. He has since toured arenas with Taylor Swift, headlined major festivals around the world, and worked with collaborators like Joel Little and Dave Cobb. His third album, In Our Own Sweet Time, marked a more produced and confident sound while keeping the warm acoustic core that made him a household name in indie folk.
