Born in New Zealand and raised in Australia, Keith Urban doesn't have the prototypical background of a country music star.  But while it might be half a world away, the Australian Outback has a lot in common with the American West.  After appearing as a contestant on the Australian TV show New Faces, Keith began to climb his way up the ranks of Australia's country music industry, and spent the '80s and early '90s as one of his nation's fastest rising stars.  But it was a 1992 move to Nashville, TN that really set him on the path to superstardom, culminating in the 1999 release of his self-titled American debut.  Since then, he's released 9 consecutive Platinum-certified albums, topped Billboard's Country charts 20 times, and remained one of the hottest draws in the genre!
