Los Tigres del Norte were formed in Mocorito, Sinaloa, Mexico, by the Hernández family before emigrating to San Jose, California, in the late 1960s. Led by Jorge Hernández alongside his brothers and cousin, the group pioneered a style of norteño music that blended traditional Mexican folk instrumentation with socially conscious storytelling.
